Juwan Plummer Feared For His Life Before Shooting Two cops
Oak Park, Michigan native, Juwan Alexander Plummer, thought his family was in danger. He was at home with his mother and 14-year-old little brother. Just a week prior, Juwan’s mom called the police about an attempted break-in, on the 20500 block of Lesure on Detroit’s west side. Juwan Plummer fought off the man attempting to break into their house. So this time, when Juwan Plummer heard suspicious noise coming from outside of his house, frightened, for not only his life but the life of his mother and younger brother, Juwan’s survivor instinct kicked in so he fetched his grandfather’s shotgun, to do what any man or woman would do if they thought their family was in danger, and that is… protect his family. He fired warning shots from inside his house, the shots flew through the window and hit two Detroit police officers who he mistakenly took for burglars. One cop took bullet shells to the arm and the other cop was shot in the face. According to Detroit Police Chief James Craig, both cops will survive their injuries. Unbeknownst to Juwan Plummer, the cops were in the area because his mother had called the police for a possible burglary attempt at the house next door. Damn. What an unfortunate situation.

Detroit Man Charged in Non-Fatal Shooting of Two DPD Officers Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Juwan Alexander Plummer, 19 (DOB: 06/13/1997), of Oak Park, Michigan, in connection with the non-fatal shootings of two Detroit police officers. On April 16, 2017, at 11:45 p.m., the two DPD officers responded to a dispatch for a home invasion in progress at a home in the 20500 block of Lesure. They knocked on the door of Plummer’s mother’s home on the same block and, as they were walking away from the location, it is alleged that Plummer fired a weapon from inside the house, striking both officers. Plummer was arrested at the scene. The two officers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Plummer has been charged with two counts each of the following crimes: Intentional Discharge of a Firearm in a Building Causing Serious Injury (20 years); Intentional Discharge of a Firearm in a Building Causing Injury (15 years), Felonious Assault (four years). He has also been charged with four counts of Felony Firearm (two years consecutive).* Plummer was arraigned this afternoon before Magistrate Charles Anderson. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 26, 2017; the preliminary examination is scheduled for May 2, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $25,000/10% bond. Prosecutor Worthy said, “This case is very unfortunate and could have been much worse. We simply cannot and will not ignore the alleged actions of the defendant in this case. The victims could well have been a neighbor or a small child. The lives of these officers, who were doing their jobs, will never be the same and we must hold people accountable for their actions.”
Juwan Alexander Plummer Needs Money For An Attorney
Juwan Alexander Plummer’s father Vincent Redd is trying to keep his son out of prison. Juan’s family spent all the money they had to pay his bond. The facts of this case clearly show that Juwan Alexander Plummer never met to hurt those cops. He was scared and felt that he was in immediate danger. This is exactly the same explanation that police officers give to the public when they shoot and kill unarmed black citizens in America. Those cops receive so much support. Juwan Alexander is showing remorse for how things transpired that night and need our support.
