Dark Skin Activist Rashida Strober
Hi, my name is Rashida Strober. I am the world’s first dark skin activist and the inventor of dark skin activism. I invented dark skin activism back in 1998 out of my own personal experience of what I coined “darkism” and wrote a book of the same title. DARKISM ruins people’s lives and that’s why I am continuously doing something about it with the DARK SKIN ACTIVIST TOUR.
Growing up I endured poverty and homelessness in the inner city. The most painful part of growing up was the relentless abuse I suffered for having dark skin. Ashamed of my appearance, for years I suffered low self-esteem. However, I turned the abuse I endured into the healing of activism. In 1998 at St. Pete College I gave my first lecture on dark skin spurring what I call dark skin activism.
Since 1998 I have been the dark skin activist giving lectures and performance of my play, A dark skin woman’s revenge and the impact of darkism around the country. I also give personal counseling and mentorship sessions to people around the world. I have written numerous articles and I am the author of five books on dark skin including:
• How to be the hottest dark skin chick on the planet
• A Dark Skin Girl’s Triumph: the Rashida Strober Story
• Inventing Dark Skin Activism
